Why does Chillcore cost money?
Because AI is expensive, and we'd rather charge users than sell your task titles to advertisers.
Chillcore does not: - Run ads - Sell your data - Have a "free trial that auto-charges $99" dark pattern - Rent your email list - Let advertisers target you
Chillcore does: - Charge Pro subscribers a fair price - Offer a real free tier that's usable forever - Publish an annual transparency report once we have volume
Payment methods

- Apple Pay / Google Pay — via the App Store and Play Store versions when they ship (planned last per roadmap)
Not planned: crypto payments. If that changes, we'll announce it.
Cancellation + refunds
Cancel any time. In-app or on chillcore.app → Settings → Payments. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. No partial refunds on monthly plans (standard SaaS practice).
Annual plans: pro-rated refund within 14 days of purchase (EU consumer rights — we extend this globally for first-time buyers).
Goodwill refunds: for first-time buyers outside EU who haven't used the product substantially (arm a buddy, complete a task) — email support@chillcore.app.
Chargebacks: if you dispute a legitimate charge without contacting us first, we may suspend your account per the Terms. Just talk to us first — we're not the villains here.

Coming later
- Student discount (planned Q1 2027): 50% off Pro with a
.edu(or equivalent international) email verification. - Team plans: not currently on the roadmap. Chillcore is designed for individual accountability, not team task management. If you're a manager looking to accountability-shame your reports: hard no, that's a different (worse) product.
- Lifetime pricing: not planned. Chillcore's cost is AI + infrastructure — both are recurring, so pricing has to be recurring.
- Regional pricing: planned per-market as we launch (Q2 2027 target for EU-specific pricing).
Enterprise / bulk
We do not sell to enterprises. Chillcore is a consumer product for individual accountability. If a company wants to buy Pro seats for employees as a wellness benefit, they can — but it's Pro at $79/year per seat, not a discounted bulk contract, and each seat is that employee's account (not the company's).

Is there a free trial for Pro?
Not currently. The free tier is real — use it forever if it works for you. Upgrade to Pro when you're ready, cancel any time, EU customers get 14-day pro-rated refund. We don't do the "credit card required for free trial" pattern.
What happens if I downgrade from Pro to Free?
You keep 2 tasks (your oldest 2 by default; you can archive others). You lose access to Drill Sergeant + Demon, buddy connection, Earned Silence, and the advanced task types. Your history stays intact — no data loss.
Can I gift Pro to someone?
Not yet. Planned for Q2 2027. If you want to buy someone Pro today, they can subscribe and you can reimburse — not ideal, but it works.
Do you offer student discounts?
Planned Q1 2027 (50% off Pro with .edu verification). Not live yet.
Do you have a refund policy?
Yes. EU: 14-day pro-rated on annual purchases (consumer rights). Globally: goodwill refunds for first-time buyers who haven't substantially used the product. Contact support@chillcore.app. Full policy: /legal/refunds.
Why not $4.99 or $19.99?
$9.99 is where the AI cost + platform economics + margin math converges for a solo user. $4.99 wouldn't cover the per-user LLM cost. $19.99 would price out too many of the exact people Chillcore is designed for. $9.99 is the honest number.
