The Chillcore Blog

30 posts on procrastination, task planning, and external accountability. No motivational fluff. Direct, opinionated, occasionally sharp.

Every post here targets a specific question people actually search for — grounded in real research (Steel, Pychyl, Fogg, Baumeister with the replication caveats, Ariely) and written for people who've tried the gentle productivity apps and bounced.

Start with a pillar

Three long-form hubs. Each one links down to its ten deep-dive posts.

Pillar

Task planning

How to plan — and finish — what you start.

Pillar

Accountability

External accountability: why it works and how to build it.

How we write

Every post here follows the same rules:

  • Grounded in real research — cited honestly, not name-dropped. Where we cite Baumeister on willpower, we mention the replication crisis. Where we cite Focusmate data, we link to their source.
  • No filler phrases — "in today's fast-paced world," "let's dive in," "it's important to note" are banned.
  • No hedging — assertions. Where we're guessing, we say so.
  • Specific over general — "break tasks into small pieces" is dead. "Break tasks until the first step takes under 90 seconds" is alive.
  • Honest about our product — every post that mentions Chillcore mentions who should skip it too. If your only exposure to Chillcore is the product page, read the Manifesto or any Cluster A post — the voice is the same.

Read the Manifesto

If you want to understand why we built Chillcore as a hardcore accountability app (not a gentle productivity app), the Manifesto is the 3,200-word case for the whole positioning.
